For those of you who have not heard yet... The Purdum family is expecting another BOY in mid November. We don't have a scanner anymore or I would post the picture from the ultrasound. Bobby says he is going to convert the DVD they made us so I can post it, but with all that is going on around here I am not holding my breath!
Also, a few people have mentioned that they cannot comment on here because they do not have a Gmail account. You can comment , you just have to choose anonymous when commenting. Just be sure you put you name in the comment box so we don't have to wonder forever who is commenting.
You can see some photos over at our myspace page of the kids. I will work on getting them up here.

Free Curriculum
"Rosetta Stone has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while -- next week they are unleashing a brand new curriculum, and you can WIN the *all new* Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3… FOR FREE!
This is a $219 program and the winner gets to pick from any of these 14 languages: Spanish (Spain or Latin America), English (American or British), Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Hebrew, or Russian.
This will also include a headset with microphone, and students will participate in lifelike conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program. Rosetta Stone still incorporates listening, reading and writing as well, in addition to speaking. Many homeschoolers requested grammar and vocabulary exercises, and with Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3, they're included! For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program and allow parents to easily enroll students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, and view and print reports.
To win this most excellent program -- in the language of your choice -- copy these (blue) paragraphs and post it in (or as) your next blog post -- then to enter the contest, go to the original contest page HERE and leave a comment with the link showing where you blogged about it. And please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post it. And good luck! The winner will be picked randomly on March 26, and will be notified thru the link they left to their blog pg. And if you have more than one blog, you can post them and enter those separately for more chances to win. Yay for free stuff!"

Quirks
My friend, Wendy just started blogging recently. She tagged me to post 6 of my quirks. I think this is an attempt to get me to actually post something or to get you all to laugh at me. I am not sure which.
It was very hard to come up with 6 quirky things about myself since I am a the epitome of normal. But after hours of pondering I finally came up with these things.
1. I become extremely chatty as soon as I get into bed. This drives Bobby, and I am sure anyone who has ever spent the night with me, crazy. I can’t help it. My mind just works overtime once I lie down. I sometimes I talk until I am almost asleep and my thoughts and words become jumbled. I am positive this would crack people up if they had actually stayed awake to listen to me.
2. I hold my neck. I am not sure why. I started when I was in second grade and I do it more frequently when I am stressed or nervous. I stopped once for a few weeks when I moved to Georgia from Texas but then my mom mentioned it and I started again. I am so glad my kids have not picked up this habit.
3. I hate for people to call my kids nick names! If I wanted my son to be called Nick I would have named him Nick. His name is Nicholas. People do the same with Gabriel as well. Hearing him called Gabe makes my skin crawl!
4. I have a hard time being spontaneous. I like having a plan. If the plan changes, no problem I can adjust, but if there is no plan to begin with I can become quite irritable.
5. I cannot stand to vacuum! I will wash dishes, do laundry, cook and even do windows but I hate to vacuum. I am not sure why; it’s one of the easier domestic duties but around here Bobby does 95% of the vacuuming. I am teaching Hannah as well!
6. No one, not even Bobby, can touch my belly button! Yuck! It gives me the willies!
Okay, so now you know... I'm a freak.
I cannot think of anyone who reads my blog, that I know of who blogs but if you do feel free to consider yourself tagged. Anyone else who wants to is welcome to leave their quirkiness in the comments if you don't have a blog.

Thankful Ponderings
I was over at Chrissy's blog Tales from the Carpool Lane reading her post on thankfulness and it got me thinking.
The Lord has truly blessed us. We have a home , food, running water and even a bed for each of us to sleep in. I can worship my Father without fear that I will be locked away or worse. I can say with confidence that no one in my family will die as a result of genocide. I am often overwhelmed by all he has given us and I can say for absolute certain that we have not received so much because we earned or deserved it. I know that the Lord delight in giving good gifts to his children, but we were blessed long before we became His.
So I often think, "Why me?". Not that I am complaining. It brings unmeasurable joy to me that my children will not suffer what so many children do in this world. But "Why me?" in the sense of... He blessed me for a reason, He put me in America and not Darfur or Cuba. Why? I am no better then those in other countries. So why was I placed here with so many blessings? And my prayer becomes not just, "Thank you Lord for all you have given." but, "Show me what you want me to do with it all. Let me be a good steward of all you have given me and my family."
Hmmm, kinda makes my four year old's disobedience seem like a very small problem. At least I know he will go to sleep tonight in a warm bed, with a full belly and chances are tomorrow he will wake and we can start all over again.
What are we thankful for? And are we bringing glory to the One who gives us reason to be thankful? Something to think about.
Blessings,
Julie

Belated Photos
Well, with all the moving our poor blog has been pushed to the side. From the looks of it you would think that we have not done anything fun since we moved to Georgia. Lucky for my kids, that is not the truth, and I have the pictures to prove it!
At the end of July we took the kids to Amicalola Falls State Park.
Going for a little hike.

Enjoying the ride.
Hannah in a tree.

Nicholas in a tree.

Gabriel in a tree time 2!

ok...that last one cracks me up.
We also went to The Georgia Aquarium Labor Day weekend but I will save those picture for another day.
