Happy Birthday, Hannah!

I cannot believe Hannah is six! Doesn't that sound like a big number? Four and five didn't really bother me. I mean, I thought, " Where did the time go?" but six just seems old. Maybe it is because we had to get her a bigger bike. Maybe it is because she is beginning to have a life that I am not a part of, conversations that I don't hear. She has started to ask me thoughtful questions. She has learned 20 sight words so far and can sound out many more. She can also add single digit numbers and count past 100.

Yes, she is growing up very quickly.

We celebrated her birthday twice. This has become something of a family tradition. On her actual birthday Bobby takes off work and we do whatever she wants. She calls it her "Special Day". This day usually includes presents from us, a pancake breakfast, shopping with any birthday money she has received, getting her picture taken and eating out. This year we ate at the local Japanese restaurant. I love taking them there because they love the hibachi style cooking. It is so much fun to watch them watch.

Then on the Saturday we had her party. She had a pony party. She adores horses so it was a hit. She had a blast playing with her friends and eating cupcakes and ice cream. We even played pin the tail on the donkey. Next years party should be much larger since we are moving closer to family.

Happy Birthday, Hannah!

I hope you don't mind, but I followed a link here from Asela Hopkins' blog. Then I noticed on your other blog that it said "daughter of the risen King". AWESOME! So happy to meet a fellow christian. I left a comment about your daughter's decision. I'll be bookmarking your blog if you don't mind and would love for you to read my blog about my FAITH journey if you would like. http://toaoscogitations.blogspot.com/
I also have a creative blog too.
